Casa Grande Ruins National Monument

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument can be described as unique for many reasons, not the least of which is that it is one of few national monuments that welcome dogs. The National Monument staff just asks that you keep your dog on a leash during your visit!


The Casa Grande Ruins National Monument contains the remains of an ancient Great House, built around 1350.


Casa Grande is about an hour from Tucson but well worth the drive. The self-guided tour is perfect for someone looking to learn some history while enjoying time with their pup. You can also have a nice lunch out of the sun in the provided picnic areas! The site is not overwhelmingly large so you can expect to spend just an hour or two taking it all in.


Tucson Botanical Gardens

Want to give your eyes and your dog’s nose plenty of beauty to take in? Head to the Tucson Botanical Gardens between June and September!


Tucson Botanical Gardens welcomes leashed pups every day from June through September for $3 a day. You can also opt for your dog to get their own membership for $20 ($10 for each additional dog). The memberships are money-saving and super cute – they come in the form of a personalized dog tag!


The Gardens make sure that your trip there will be comfortable for both you and your dog. They provide plenty of bowls and clean-up stations for you to utilize.


Note: Service animals are welcome in the Gardens at no cost.


Mount Lemmon

A little over an hour from Tucson, Mount Lemmon is a stunning mountain with great dog-friendly trails! Mount Lemmon is revered for its 39 scenic trails at all skill levels. Just be sure to keep your dog leashed while you enjoy these beautiful hikes.
